Who among you out there admires Wyatt Earp, and who of you thinks that he is vastly overrated? I'd love to hear why you think the way that you do. I'd also love to hear which book covering his life is the most accurate, in your opinion.

The western genre to me is a funny thing: a western can either be very, very good, or it can be very, very bad. It seems difficult to find a middle ground for these kinds of stories. At least it seems that way to me. It's also very difficult to find one that isn't formulaic, and I think that this might be due to the pressures put upon writers from various publishing houses to produce "a book just like the last one." And I mean just like the last one. Long live originality and those who allow it to happen! I sincerely hope that my novels accomplish that if nothing else.
